Adam Wilson isn’t quite sure where he is or exactly how he got here, but, he’s very excited. As a child, he was fascinated by newspapers and their 24-hour miracle. So, he looked up how they did it when he went to school. He left the world of academia with a degree in journalism and wandered the country working for daily newspapers, including, for a brief stint, the Dallas Morning News.
In 2000, Adam left the daily grind to walk across the country with a backpack, completing a 2,000+ mile thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. In 2005, daily newspapers left him this time, when the paper he had been with for 6 years, the Birmingham (Ala.) Post-Herald, died an unceremonious death. He stuck with newspapers for a bit longer but eventually decided to find a new niche after noticing that nobody reads them anymore.
He now gets all his news from Twitter, 2-year-old waiting-room copies of Sports Illustrated and Highlights, and his children, who are a fount of possibly verifiable information on current global events.
Adam lives in Richardson with his two awesome children, a Catahoula Leopard Dog named Boudreaux,
six five fish, and an assortment of houseplants.
